Jebel Jais Sledder ride

Jebel Jais is located in Ras Al Khaimah, one of the emirates of the United Arab Emirates and is well known for its high peak mountains. Another good escape from busy city which is up to two hours’ drive away from other emirates like Dubai. The other part of the mountain is said to be Oman border already. When you look at the mountain’s landscapes, they are very fascinating and seems an art perfectly created by nature. Its fine edges perhaps shaped by the wind or rain and the big boulders of rock like a wall stands tall with each other.

One can enjoy the view itself as the mountains are so relaxing to see. However, if you are up for some adrenaline rush you can try their sledder ride. It is 1,840 meters long ride of breathtaking curves and waves and it last for an eight-minute ride. They opened from 10:00AM to 5:00PM. Rides prices varies.

Me and my friend tried a single ride. It is mandatory to check each rider’s weight before the ride. She sits in front while I am at the back because I am the taller one. We are going up slowly while hearing the sound of the sled’s friction to the rails that gives a creepy sound. We were so nervous and started screaming but we’re sure the ride was safe. We were just fearful since that was our first time. If you are afraid of the height, don’t look back.

When we reached to the top, the staff instructed us how to maneuver the sled. The person at the back is the one technically driving the sled. There are two levers positioned in each side to be held by the “driver”. It should be pushed all the time to keep the sled moving and pulled when the break is needed. Going up gives us chills, so much more while going down. The ride is too steep and the curves are terrifying. The rides that supposed to be eight minute long lasted more than that for us because I always keep the breaks. The sled just slipped into the rails super-fast going down. Kids love it and it is a thrilling ride for those who enjoys this kind extreme adventure.

The experience is a good capture in videos and photos because the scene up there is so astonishing. Unfortunately, any kind of camera is not allowed to bring in.
