The US Embassy in Abu Dhabi sent us an email instructing me to send my passport. Now what? If you want to know the actual process for sending your passport to the US Embassy in Abu Dhabi, this blog is for you. This is the best email I have ever received, as we have been waiting for this for a few months already. My fiancé would tell me that once the embassy completed our administrative procedures, they would inform me to send my passport. Although we experienced lots of frustration, we made ourselves optimistic that when they reached out to us, it would be visa approval, and so here it is!
Sending a passport to the embassy is not just simply going to the post office and dispatching a normal package to the recipient. To do so, you must provide a Courier-In Authorization Certificate. The service is also free; they will not charge a fee.
Steps for sending your passport:
- Login to the US Visa appointment service website. Find the link here (K1 Visa document tracking and USA point of entry process | PinayRican).
- Select option – Consular Section Instructed me to send more documents

- The Follow up document tab will open. Write the reason for request. Click the send a request button.

- In the next screen select the location of your visa appointment. Click option “Register to send documents” at the bottom portion of the page.

- You will see a message confirmation popup. Click ok to proceed.

- On this step, click View Courier-in Receipt to download the certificate.

- There are two pages for the certificate. Put one of the pages inside the envelope along with your passport. Keep the other page outside the envelope.

I went directly to the same post office I had selected when I scheduled the appointment for the visa interview. The post office staff scanned the certificates, processed the documents, and gave me a receipt with a tracking number. The package was delivered to the Abu Dhabi Embassy in three days.
