How to send passport to the US Embassy in Abu Dhabi?

We received an email from the US Embassy in Abu Dhabi instructing me to send my passport. Now what? If you want to know what the actual process is to send your passport to the US Embassy in Abu Dhabi, this blog is for you. This is the best email I ever received since we have been waiting for this for a few months already. My fiancé would tell me that once the embassy completed our administrative procedures, they will inform me to send my passport. Although there was lots of frustration, we made ourselves optimistic that when they reached out to us it would be visa approval and so here it is!

Sending a passport to the embassy is not just simply going to the post office and dispatching a normal package to the recipient. To do so, a Courier-In Authorization Certificate must be provided. The service is also free, no fee will be charged.

Here are the steps:

Login to the US Visa appointment service website. You can find the link here (K1 Visa document tracking and USA point of entry process | PinayRican).
Select option – Consular Section Instructed me to send more documents

The Follow up document tab will open. Write the reason for request. Then click the send a request button.

In the next screen select the location of your visa appointment. Click option “Register to send documents” at the bottom portion of the page.

Message confirmation for the successful application will be popped out. Click ok.

Click View Courier-in Receipt to download the certificate.

There are two pages for the certificate. One should be put inside the envelope along with the passport and the other page should be put outside the envelope.

This Form should be presented to the post office to process sending document/passport.

This form should be included in the courier envelope.

I directly went to the same post office I had selected when I did the appointment for visa interview. They scan the certificates, process the documents and gave me a receipt with tracking number. It took three days to be delivered to the Abu Dhabi Embassy.
